Jim Randall, CPA CGA

Jim Randall joined
the Canada Revenue Agency in 2002 as an auditor in the tax
avoidance section at Ottawa Tax Service Office. In 2006, he moved
to the Aggressive Tax Planning Division at HQ, where he is
currently a Manager in the General Anti-Avoidance Rule (GAAR) and
Technical Support Section.
Prior to joining the CRA, Jim worked
with the Ontario Ministry of Finance as an auditor in the
Corporations Tax Branch, and in public practice. Before entering
the world of tax, Jim was an air traffic controller in Toronto.
Jim received his CGA designation in
2001, earning the national award for the public practice option. He
volunteers with CPA Ontario in planning social events for members
in Ottawa.
Jim has been volunteering with
fmi*igf since 2002. He served as the stream lead for the CGA
Workshop on the PD Week Organizing Committee for eight years; the
Vice-Chair of PD Weeks 2010 and 2013; and Chair of PD Weeks 2011,
2012 and 2014. In November 2016, Jim was appointed to the fmi*igf
National Board of Directors.
In his spare time, Jim enjoys
travelling and playing hockey.
