Across Eastern Canada, there is a
gradual yet significant shift underway that is having a profound
impact on government. Urbanization or the movement of people from
long standing rural communities to large urban centers is
challenging our traditional views on government infrastructure and
expected level of services.
Join us in Corner Brook on April 15th, 2015 to hear Bruce Peever
discuss the rethinking of government services.
Forty percent of this province's population lives east of the
overpass in the greater St. John's area. How are rural communities
in Eastern Canada going to support an accustomed level of service
with a declining number of taxpayers? On the other hand, how are
urban centers going to respond to the pressures of increased
Bruce Peever is a Senior Manager in KPMG's Public
Sector practice having over 17 years of experience with a number of
different sized Canadian municipalities. His interests are largely
in the areas of governance design and relationships; organizational
assessment, design and effectiveness; strategic planning; and
Bruce holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) from Bishop's
University, a Master of Arts (Political Science) from Wilfrid
Laurier University and a M.B.A. from Queen's University. He is a
graduate of Banff Centre of Management and is a Certified Manager
with the International City/County Manager Association (ICMA) and a
Certified Management Consultant.
