Claude Caron Claude Caron, CPA, CMA, Consultant, Vice-President of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (RETIRED) Claude Caron joined the federal public service in 1975. He has been an accomplished and influential member of the government's financial community with over 10 years of experience as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director General of Finance (DCFO), as well as extensive experience as Program Director in the Treasury Board Secretariat's Program Sector. Mr. Caron retired from the federal public service in August 2008 at the assistant deputy minister level, as Vice-President of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. He is currently an active, independent consultant providing strategic services to federal departments and agencies. Mr. Caron has held executive positions in the Federal Government in finance, policy analysis, governance, program design and review, change management and common services. He led the finance organizations at Canadian Heritage, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the RCMP and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. As a management consultant, he has been mandated to provide strategic advice to senior management, and to deliver significant change initiatives in 14 different federal departments and agencies. Mr. Caron is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA, CMA). He is a founding member, and former vice chair and chair of the DCFO Council.
