New Brunswick's Public Service: Pursuing Performance Excellence

Live from the Performance and Planning Exchange annual symposium in Ottawa, this webinar will feature Ms. Washburn's keynote address.  She will be discussing the Performance Excellence Process.  This formal management system, which was adopted during the past two years by the Government of New Brunswick, has increased efficiency and accountability, improved services to the public, streamlined administration, and seen continuous improvements within the government.  It has led to a more focused workplace, and more efficient and affordable services for New Brunswickers.

Ms. Washburn will outline more information about the Performance Excellence Process, discuss its implementation process, and examine some of its practical outcomes.

Jane Washburn, Chief of Strategy Management
for the Government of New Brunswick

Jane Washburn is the Chief of Strategy Management for the Government of New Brunswick.  She and her team are responsible for developing the principles, methods and tools by which NB Government can enhance performance and results. (Known as the Performance Excellence Process)

Jane was previously employed with Alcool NB Liquor as Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Services, where she developed and facilitated the strategic planning process that resulted in significant organizational performance improvement.

Prior to that, Jane spent 20 years in performance improvement, strategy management and human resources with leading private sector businesses including Steelcase Canada, CompAS, and J.D. Irving Limited, along with various volunteer roles.

Jane has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from the Juran Institute, and is a Certified Human Resources Professional.
