The Fredericton Chapter was pleased to host a breakfast event on
April 27, 2017 with guest speaker Mr. Gordon Gilman, Deputy
Minister of Treasury Board, Province of New Brunswick. Mr. Gilman's
presentation focused on the priorities that the Government of New
Brunswick established over the last year. Among many initiatives,
GNB will pursue how to work differently and how to attract
millennials. GNB will work hard to be considered the employer of
choice in New Brunswick. During this PD event, the Peter Wolters
Memorial Scholarship was presented to Megan Barton, daughter of
Fredericton Chapter member, Lucinda Barton. Megan received $500
towards her studies in Pre-Veterinary Medicine at Dalhousie
University's Agricultural Campus in Truro, Nova Scotia.
In July 2017, the Fredericton Chapter will be electing their
2017-2018 Board of Directors... announcement to follow.
The 2017-2018 year promises to deliver an exciting program that
will attract new members and maintain the solid following the
Chapter has established. In the new year, the Chapter endeavours to
bring forth different topics and speakers to the region. As well in
July, the Chapter will host a professional development session on
"CyberEssentials" with guest speaker David Whelbourn of CyberNB
(www.cybernb.ca). CyberNB is the Canadian epicentre and a world
leader in mitigating global cyber risks and threats. This will be a
well-rounded presentation that everyone will garner benefit.
