Regina Chapter News The Regina Chapter is continuing to grow in 2015. Our membership is now nearing 60, adding 20 members since January 1st. On February 25th, the Regina Chapter hosted a breakfast training event "Corporate Fraud" which was presented by the Regina Police Service's Commercial Crime Unit. The speakers shared many interesting examples of fraud, giving attendees a better understanding of Fraud law and what was needed to successfully convict an individual of fraud. Comments and questions indicated the learning event was valuable to its 53 attendees. With the Provincial Government's restriction on discretionary spending, the Board of the Regina Chapter took this opportunity to give back to its members, making this Corporate Fraud seminar free to FMI members. Members in attendance expressed their gratitude. The Chapter is continually looking for less expensive ways to deliver its Program, keeping costs to a minimum, yet still providing a valuable service to its membership and Regina's financial community. An upcoming meeting with the local IPAC Board on May 14th is set to discuss each group's mutual needs in the Regina market. The Chapter's next event, on May 13th, is on the topic of process improvement and we have a speaker from the Workers Compensation Board talking about their internal continuous improvement process.
