Sherry Sharpe


Sherry Sharpe CPA, CGA

Sherry is the past President of the FMI-Capital Chapter.  She held this position from 2017-2020.
During her term as Chapter Chair, Sherry was the Chair of the Chapter Advisory Council, FMI, from 2018-2020.  Prior to this, Sherry was the Chapter Chair of the CPA, CGA Ottawa Chapter from 2011-2013 and Past Chair from 2014-2016.

Sherry is a retired executive having spent 35 years in the Federal Government.  Sherry worked primarily in the scientific departments such as Agriculture and Agri-food Canada and Health Canada, with additional experience in the Department of Justice Legal Services organizations, and completing her career in the Canada Revenue Agency.

Sherry now owns and manages an incorporated business where she provides consulting services as a CFO for various not-for-profit organizations and consulting services for the federal government.

Sherry has her Masters of Business Administration (2006) and her CPA, CGA designation (2005).  Sherry is fluently bilingual and sits on a number of boards of volunteer organizations.

She brings a wealth of experience as a transformative, strategic executive who s energetic, results-driven and focused whose proven experience includes building high performance teams and leading significant performance improvement in large, complex organizations as well as small and medium enterprises as a collaborative partner and strategic council to senior management and their teams. She has significant experience in all aspects of several executive level positions in government and the not-for profit sector. Key strengths include strategic and corporate business planning, designing and implementing infrastructure and coaching and mentoring individuals.

Sherry brings her strengths to the FMI National team in building strong viable, productive teams.  She brings a strategic planning and financial management perspective to FMI and will contribute actively in the growth and evolution of the organization.
