Monia Lahaie Assistant Chief Statistician, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer

Since 2017, Monia Lahaie has held the position of Assistant Chief Statistician, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer at Statistics Canada, where she has responsibility for a broad range of services, including strategic planning, financial management and results, human resources and communications and dissemination services. For the previous 25 years, she worked in all areas of financial management and on large transformational projects where she more recently was the DG Champion for the Administrative Practices Review and Automation (APRA) initiative which won the 2016 CPA Canada Public Service Financial Management Innovation Award. Prior to joining the PS, she spent a few years as an audit consultant. Monia graduated from the University of Québec in Outaouais in 1991, became a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and later completed a master’s degree in Public Administration at l’École Nationale d’Administration Publique.
