Come spend a morning with our two great speakers: Camille Theriault, former president and CEO of UNI Financial Cooperation, and Marcie Meekins, Director of Development at Mount Allison University. They will be leading us into a discussion on Leadership and mental health intimes of organizational change.

Speakers

Camille H. Thériault
Former CEO UNI Financial Cooperation
Camille H. Thériault is an experienced businessman and seasoned politician. He has extensive knowledge of strategic planning, management and operations support for the cooperative movement.
Renowned for its ability to develop long-term strategic partnerships, he communicates efficiently with employees as well as with executives and experts of all levels with his innovative approach to organizational change, combined with its expertise in the fields of economics and finance.
A well-known figure in New Brunswick since joining the Legislative Assembly in 1987, Camille has served as a member of Parliament, Minister in various ministries and as the province’s Prime Minister in 1998 and 1999. In 2001, he became Chairman of the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of UNI Financial Cooperation (then Fédération des Caisses populaires acadiennes) from 2004 until his retirement in 2016, and a 2nd term from August 2023 to January 2025.
He distinguished himself throughout his career as a recipient of various awards and honours. In 2008, he was named “Personality of the Year” by L’Acadie Nouvelle. In 2011, he is a recipient of the Canadian Order of Cooperative and Mutual Merit, and positions UNI as the Quebec-Atlantic regional winner of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures. In 2009 and 2013, he is named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEOs by Atlantic Business Magazine. In 2013, he won the Marilyn Trenholme Counsell Award in the Corporate Literacy Initiative’s category; that same year, he was inducted into the Ordre des grands amis et amies de la Faculté d’administration de l’Université de Moncton. He is inducted in the New Brunswick Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame in 2015 and appointed member of the Order of Canada in 2018.
He obtained his bachelor’s degree in social sciences in 1976 and an honorary doctorate in business administration in 2008 from the Université de Moncton. He also completed the Director of Development Program at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management in 2010.
During his free time, he is an avid golfer.

Marcie Meekins
Director of Development at Mount Allison University
Marcie is the Director of Development at Mount Allison University. A skilled relationship builder and data-driven fundraiser, Marcie’s leadership is rooted in collaboration and open communication, empowering those around her to excel and achieve meaningful results.
For over 13 years, Marcie has been championing and securing support for causes she is passionate about. A proud Mount Allison alumna with a BA, she serves on the Board of the Drew-Tantramar Foundation and volunteers her fundraising expertise to support the Atlantic Wildlife Institute.
