Speakers
Charles H. Cho, PhD, CPA
Charles is Professor of Sustainability Accounting and the Erivan K. Haub Chair in Business & Sustainability at the Schulich School of Business, York University. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Accounting Track), and his research focuses on Social and Environmental Accounting, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Accounting in the Public Interest. He publishes his research in leading academic journals, and actively contributes to organizations like CPA Ontario, the Club Canadien de Toronto (francophone business club), the Canadian Academic Accounting Association, the European Accounting Association and is a member of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)’s Global Sustainability Standards Board. As a globally recognized scholar, he frequently delivers keynotes and ranks among the top 2% of cited accounting researchers worldwide. He has also worked for KPMG LLP and other public accounting firms for several years in auditing and taxation.

Bailey Church
Bailey Church leads KPMG Canada’s National Public Sector Accounting Advisory service line and is the Leader of the Public Sector ESG Centre of Expertise at KPMG Canada. He is also the Leader of KPMG’s Global International Public Sector Accounting Standards working group. Bailey is a member of Canada’s Auditing and Assurance Standards Board’s Sustainability Assurance Committee. He has an extensive background serving the Government of Canada, provincial governments, universities, crown corporations, municipalities, and not-for-profit organizations, as well as Enterprise clients and publicly listed entities. Bailey has worked extensively with all industry sectors on sustainability and biodiversity matters. He has worked with more than 300 governments to build trust in their sustainability reporting.
Bailey is a board member of the Natural Assets Initiative. He is leading the collaborations between KPMG, the Natural Assets Initiative, and the Intact Centre on Climate Change, and more than 50 industry partners to develop a voluntary disclosure framework designed to align with the Taskforce on Nature Related Financial Disclosures, including natural asset valuation techniques.
