The Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter is pleased to invite you to a Professional Development Day

Our full-day in-person event will center on Leadership Development, featuring discussions and interactive workshops on:

Misalignment and conflicting directions working with colleagues and superiors – effective briefing (Panelists: Former Senator Vernon White, Serena Francis: Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Financial Officer, Health Canada and Phil Quan: Manager Internal Controls over Financial Management, National Defence)

Navigating leadership in transitions – Strategies for effective budget management and change implementation (Panelists: Wojo Zielonka:  Senior ADM and Chief Financial Officer of Employment and Social Development Canada, Michael Wernick: former Clerk to the Privy Council and Andrew Campbell: Senior Vice-President, Operations, Parks Canada)

Leadership and Professional Competencies (Panelists: Linda Drainville: Assistant Deputy Minister & Chief Financial Officer,  Environment and Climate Change Canada, Philippe Thompson: Chief Financial Results and Delivery Officer, Indigenous Services and Sophie Caron: Strategic Advisor, Employment and Social Development Canada)

Leading change during the hybrid work transition (Panelists: Arun Thangaraj: Deputy Minister, Transport Canada & Dany Richard: Past President – Association of Canadian Financial Officers (ACFO) and Shilan Harper: Resource Management Project Leader, Canada Revenue Agency

Each of the topics will start with a panel discussion and then be followed up with smaller workshops. There will be networking opportunities during the day, and the day will finish with a cocktail hour where the participants will be able to network with CFOs and DCFOs. Meals and refreshments during breaks will be provided up with smaller workshops.

Cancellations for refund can be made up to 15 days prior to the event date, after that, there will be no refunds.  Participants can be substituted up to 3 days prior to the event, however, dietary restrictions can only be submitted up to 10 days prior to the event.
