Speakers
Dominic Rochon
Deputy Minister and Chief Information Officer of Canada
Dominic Rochon was appointed Deputy Minister at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) and Chief Information Officer of Canada on February 12, 2024.
Before joining TBS, he was the Associate Deputy Minister at Transport Canada, following three years as the Senior Assistant Deputy Minister of National Security and Cybersecurity at Public Safety Canada. He has also held senior roles in central agencies, including the Privy Council Office and TBS, and with the Communications Security Establishment.
Dominic has extensive experience in strategic policy, strategic planning, strategic communications and in overseeing a range of operational issues within the Government of Canada.
Dominic received his B.A. (Honours) in Political Science, International Politics from the University of Ottawa. He is married with two children.
Farhat Khan
Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President, Corporate Affairs
Farhat Khan is the Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President, Corporate Affairs. She leads a sector team of 250 professionals and is accountable for the provision of departmental HR, information technology and financial management functions as well as other corporate services. Farhat is also accountable for departmental planning including risk management and performance measurement for the PSC. She is the Chief Security Officer for the PSC and oversees the administration of the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act at the PSC.
Farhat has held the positions of Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Director General from 2015 to 2022 in several large, decentralized organizations, with areas of responsibility spanning financial management, grants and contributions program management and recipient audits. In addition, she has held various executive positions in information management and information technology. Farhat is a chartered professional accountant (CPA, CMA) and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and management information systems.
Farhat is energized by the diversity of her team and their passion for excellence in service delivery. She has a hands-on management style and is non-hierarchical in her interactions with teams.
Sheri Ostridge
Assistant Comptroller General, Internal Audit Sector
Sheri Ostridge was appointed Assistant Comptroller General, Internal Audit Sector on December 4, 2023. Prior to joining the Office of the Comptroller General, Sheri was the Chief Audit Executive and Chief Risk Officer at Employment and Social Development Canada. Sheri has 20 years of experience with the Government of Canada, having also worked previously at Veterans Affairs Canada, Fisheries and Oceans and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
Sheri worked in the academic and private sectors before joining the Government of Canada. She is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and has a Master degree in Education from the University of Prince Edward Island (2002) and a Bachelor degree in Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University (1994).
Brandon Lee
Director General of the Grants and Contributions Transformation Initiative, Global Affairs Canada
Brandon Lee is the Director General of the Grants and Contributions Transformation Initiative at Global Affairs Canada, where he leads a department-wide initiative to modernize the management of over $6 billion in global grants and contributions. Previously, he served as Consul General of Canada in San Francisco, Seattle, and as Canada’s Ambassador to Silicon Valley. Brandon has also held senior roles at the World Trade Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross, spearheading key international reforms. He has a diverse background in both government and private sectors, including innovation and change management.
