On Tuesday, June 14th, 2022, please join Michelle Jewer as she provides an overview of Budget 2022 for Newfoundland and Labrador.
Michelle will discuss the various measures, investments, initiatives and projections communicated in Budget 2022, and how they collectively inform government’s plan to return to surplus and fiscal sustainability.
Michelle is currently the Deputy Minister of Finance for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Michelle joined the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2000 at the Office of the Auditor General. Since that time, she has held several financial leadership positions in Government across various departments including the Department of Education, the Department of Health and Community Services, Department of Finance and Treasury Board Secretariat. Ms. Jewer has held the role of Comptroller General and her most recent role was the Secretary to the Treasury Board (Acting) with the Treasury Board Secretariat. Ms. Jewer holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-operative) from Memorial University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
