On Thursday February 25, 2021, join Paul Barnes, as he discusses COVID-19 and the related drop in demand for energy across the globe, resulted in unprecedented challenges for the oil and natural gas industry.

Paul will provide an in-depth look at the impacts on industry, both nationally and from a Newfoundland and Labrador offshore perspective, and speak to why the industry is critical to Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada’s economic recovery.

The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) represents companies, large and small, that explore for, develop and produce natural gas and oil throughout Canada. CAPP’s member companies produce about 80 per cent of Canada’s natural gas and oil.

  • PAUL BARNES

    PAUL BARNES is Director - Atlantic Canada and Arctic, for the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) based in their St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador office. Paul has over 32 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining CAPP, he was employed with the Canada-Newfoundland & Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) in their Lands Administration and Industrial Benefits departments. He currently serves on a number of Industry Boards and Committees and is a Director on the Board of the Atlantic Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
