Virtual presentation – ZOOM

On June 23, 2021, please join Paul Smith as he provides an overview of Budget 2021 for Newfoundland and Labrador. Covid-19 has presented the province with significant fiscal and economic challenges that have further complicated a less than ideal financial context and outlook.

Paul will discuss the various measures, investments, initiatives and projections communicated in Budget 2021, and how they collectively inform government’s plan to return to surplus and fiscal sustainability.

Paul has been the acting Deputy Minister of Finance since November 2020.

With over 30 years working in the provincial public service, he has held executive positions in a variety of departments, preceded by a lengthy and valuable tenure with the Office of the Comptroller General.
