Capital Chapter Professional Development (PD) Webinar Series | Stream 1

The FMI Capital Chapter has the following exciting, innovative, interactive on-line PD program for the coming Fall-Winter-Spring Season.

Welcome to the Capital Chapter Professional Development (PD) Webinar Series aimed at continuing to support your professional development with practical experience and hands-on advice from leaders in the public sector.

Each traditional PD Day has been converted into a Professional Development Stream organized by themes.  We will offer four streams in total.  Individual webinar sessions within each Professional Development Stream are spread out throughout the year to make the time commitment easier to integrate with other priorities.

By registering and participating in a Professional Development Stream you will receive 6 PDU credits for each stream and also have access to a full recording of the sessions for future reference.

Stream 1: Financial and Risk Management in an Emerging Technology Environment

Session Dates:  October 13, 2020 – January 12, 2021 –  February 16 – 2021 – May 11, 2021

This Professional Development stream will provide an opportunity to strip away the jargon and learn about some of the real-life lessons within and outside the public service.  We will explore the impact of emerging technologies, regulatory environments, risk-based decisions and the necessary broadening scope and skills of those in the CFO community in order to be able to transform the financial management function.  The series will be kicked off by former Clerk of the Privy Council Michael Wernick and will also include Chief Statistician Anil Arora as well as experienced CFOs such as Ryan Pilgrim and Tom Roberts.
