The Challenge of a Slow Growth Economy: This session will examine the latest economic, social and political trends in Newfoundland and Labrador with a special emphasis on the demographic challenges facing the province, along with seven actions that grow the economy.
As Chairman & CEO, and Co-founder of Corporate Research Associates, Don is one of Canada’s leading public opinion and market research professionals.
As a qualified expert witness in the field of public opinion and market research Don has appeared before numerous boards, commissions and judicial courts, including the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia. Don is frequently a guest commentator on radio and television on public opinion issues.
Actively involved in the research industry, he was the founding President of the Marketing Research & Intelligence Association (MRIA) and as Chair of the MRIA Government Relations Committee has done much for the authentication of the research industry in Canada.
Passionate about Atlantic Canada and his community, Don has served on a multitude of Boards with significant community involvement. He was inducted into the Atlantic Business Magazine Top 50 CEO Hall of Fame in its inaugural year in 2005. As well, he was selected 2001 Business Person of the Year in Metro Halifax by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.
