Athena Dinos has spent many years attaining a strong foundation in business and accounting through education and work experience.
Her love of learning led her to acquire a Bachelors of Commerce in 1987, a Masters of Business in 1994, and a CGA designation in 2007.
In 2008, Athena’s career turned towards the federal public service, where she accepted a position as auditor for Farm Income Programs with the Agri-Food and Agriculture Canada. Eighteen months later, she moved to Canadian Heritage as the financial officer responsible for planning. Since 2012, Athena has served as the Regional Manager of Finance for Prairies and Northern Region.
As a student, Athena worked as a server/bartender in the hospitality industry. Moving up the industry, she took on the positions of staff trainer, supervisor, manager – eventually becoming an owner/operator in a partnership venture of her own.
Married and proud mother of two adult children, Athena is an active board member for several non-profit organizations both locally and nationally, and is heavily involved on various committees within her cultural community.
In her spare time, Athena serves as the Comptroller/Finance Officer of a small independent school within the Catholic School system, where her passion of education and youth come together.
